In 1949 a group of central Virginia businesspeople came together to start a locally owned and operated radio station to serve their communities. They wanted local radio that would have the type of a positive influence to encourage local businesses to trust and partner together with them, and help develop mutually beneficial, strong marketing plans that resulted in sustainable growth. 75-years later that mission is still Piedmont Communications’ top priority, despite most other area stations, now corporate entities, that draw on abounding out-of-state resources.
Piedmont Communications, Inc. has two heritage stations that have grown to be a huge force in the central Virginia communities they serve; 105.5 ‘Classic Hits’ SAM-FM and 103.1 ‘Today’s Country’ WJMA-FM. They utilize an unmatched footprint that encompasses ALL of central Virginia; from Waynesboro to Short Pump, Scottsville to Centerville and all the communities and counties in between.
Our 105.5 ‘Classic Hits’ SAM FM Radio listener profile includes a highly desirable above national average household (disposable) income, and college (or some college) education. They live in multiple members and multiple vehicle households, and over 80% own their own homes.
Our management, on-air and advertising sales team are long time residents of Charlottesville /Albemarle County and are more than qualified to consult with businesses for the most effective advertising and promotional campaigns.
Be a part of the growth and not a bystander. Reach out to 105.5 SAM-FM and let us help you make your business grow!
