Name: SPARC Presents: Moving America’s Soul on Suicide Film Screening
Date: September 5, 2024
Time: 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM EDT
Event Description:

The Charlottesville Area Suicide Prevention Resource & Awareness Council (SPARC) invites you to a FREE screening of Moving America’s Soul on Suicide.

“Anyone can get broken.” The words effortlessly formed by a marine who once did not believe them himself, until a tragic plane crash sent his life down a path he never thought possible. A teenage girl who doesn’t expect to grow up, and lacks the will to do so. A young boy struggling with his own spiraling thoughts he could not control. These are just a few of the thousands of stories that far too often end in heartbreak for family and friends. Silouan, Tonja, Kevin, Misha, Craig, and Ally each share their remarkable stories of triumph over trauma, pain, and mental health challenges. Follow them as Dr. Thomas Joiner takes a look into what leads a person to these dark places, but more importantly, how to help them find their way back.
