Event Description:
The mission of the Chamber Aging in Place Business Network is to provide education about local businesses and services that support personal choice 
and vitality in the second half of life, and to provide a forum to develop relationships with the members of the roundtable who serve in that community.
Dementia Friends Training
A Dementia Friend is someone who attends an in-person session, learns about what it's like to live with dementia and then turns that understanding into action. From telling friends about the Dementia Friends program to visiting someone who is living with dementia, every action counts. Anyone of any age can be Dementia Friend - we all have a part to play in creating dementia friendly communities!
All attendees must register.
Attendees will receive a certification of participation.

"Kim Volker is originally from central Virginia area and has lived here all of her life. She has a passion for being an advocate for the elderly, and has personal experience caring for both her grandmother and her father. Kim has extensive professional experience in the medical field including working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in an inpatient rehabilitation setting, processing medical claims for doctor’s offices and insurance companies, and running her own company caring for elderly people with multiple healthcare needs."
Kim is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and a Dementia Friends Champion.
