Jun 9 Chamber Charlottesville Area Development Roundtable

Join us for our initial Charlottesville Area Development Roundtable meeting.

The Charlottesville Area Development Round Table (CADRe) is the new real estate & economic development round table within the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce, formed to partner with City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County government leaders, professional staff, Chamber member enterprises and the Greater Charlottesville area citizens, to promote and enhance effective and creative growth policies and implementation strategies and processes. CADRe advocates for the next great places.
 
The CADRe Round Table members will meet quarterly to discuss current regional development policies and implementation issues and solutions. 
Jun 12 Golf Tournament: Shelter for Help in Emergency
Come support the Shelter for Help in Emergency and enjoy a day of golf. Enjoy lunch, dinner, drinks, prizes, raffles and more! Dinner-Only tickets available for non-golfers, as well! https://www.sheltergolftournament.org/ On Monday, June 12th the Shelter for Help in Emergency will be hosting a golf tournament at Old Trail Golf Club to benefit the Shelter and the services they provide to victims of domestic violence in our community. The tournament will be a Captain's Choice Scramble. Registration opens at 11:30 a.m. and the tournament will begin at 1:00 p.m. Box lunch and complimentary beverages will be provided on the course. Following the tournament, a dinner and awards ceremony will be held. Anyone not participating in the tournament is encouraged to join us for this portion of the evening by purchasing a Dinner Only ticket. Jun 23 The Realities of Cyber Risk & the Need for Cyber Security for Small Businesses
Are you losing sleep worrying about the risk of a cyber attack on your small business? Do you know the steps to take to minimize this risk? Have you considered the impact of a cyber breech on your business? Cyber attacks have increase 660% in the last four years and over 40% of these are now targeted at small businesses? Join us at our upcoming cyber security workshop for information, lunch, and maybe a little peace of mind! This workshop is designed to provide you with a better understanding of security vulnerabilities for small businesses and a checklist of best practices for reducing risks. The workshop will include a presentation by Phil Jaderborg, CEO and founder of PJ Networks Computer Services, an IT support company specializing in security, compliance and managed services. Following Mr. Jaderborg's talk there will be a roundtable discussion with several industry professionals. Lunch will be provided by First Citizens Bank. Sign-in and lunch will begin at 11:30 am. This workshop is being held through a collaborative effort between the Central Virginia SBDC, PJ Networks and First Citizens Bank.

Lovefest is a family friendly celebration of art, music, and of course, love at the IX Art Park located in the heart of downtown Charlottesville, The music plays from noon-11pm on Saturday, June 24 and noon-10pm on Sunday, June 25. Both days will be preceded by a pay–what-you-can morning of meditation and yoga for any who want to participate. A separately-ticketed late-night party on Saturday will retain revelers who want to keep the love alive. Family friendly activities and events throughout the day with education and entertainment for kids of all ages all focused on the themes of inclusion, community and many facets of love.
