About INTO THE WOODS: In these magical woods, fairytales like Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Little Red Riding Hood get a refreshingly dark twist. James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone’s favorite characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece … and a rare modern classic. INTO THE WOODS received a Tony Award for Best Score, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Actress in a Musical when it debuted on Broadway in 1987. Broadway recently announced the return of INTO THE WOODS this summer, which will feature performances from Sara Bareilles, Gavin Creel, and Phillipa Soo, among many others.
Live Arts’ production of INTO THE WOODS marks this year’s Teen Summer Musical, an annual program where the cast is made up of teens in the community.
