The mission of the Chamber Aging in Place Business Network
is to provide education about local businesses and services that support personal choice and vitality in the second half of life, and to provide a forum to develop relationships with the members of the roundtable who serve in that community.
Member Spotlight: Georgia's Healing House.
Educational Segment: Dr. Kara Hawkins from Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital will be discussing Osteoporosis.
Osteoporosis, which literally means porous bone, is a disease in which the density and quality of bone are reduced. As bones become more porous and fragile, the risk of fracture is greatly increased. The loss of bone occurs silently and progressively. Often there are no symptoms until the first fracture occurs.
