Event Description:

The North Charlottesville Business Council of the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce will hold its 2012 Luncheon beginning at 11:30 AM, Wednesday, June 27th, at the DoubleTree Charlottesville Hotel.  Virginia Secretary of Transportation Sean Connaughton will address NCBC members and guests on planned transportation improvements in the region and Virginia.

 

“We are honored to have Secretary Connaughton address our NCBC once again,” stated Lloyd F. Wood, of Storage Solution Center, who serves as Chairman of the Chamber’s North Charlottesville Business Council. “Sean has been a champion for improved and safer transportation in our region and throughout the Commonwealth and a tireless advocate to advance the US29 Western Bypass project and many other needed projects in our community. He is a friend and once again we welcome him.”

 

The North Charlottesville Business Council was organized as a council of the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce in 1993 to promote desirable growth and development within the US29 corridor area by fostering a constructive business environment in which to accomplish its goals of prosperity, expansion, and development. The US29 corridor generates 45% of Albemarle County’s total annual local tax revenues and is home to more than 20,000 jobs, representing a total payroll of more than $800 million each year. In pursuit of the its goals, NCBC strives to create a climate favorable to business, to promote the exchange of ideas between members, and to support other activities needed to further the business success of its membership and enhance the civic, general welfare, and the quality of life the area.
